FISH, Inc. of Torrington, CT announces that Winsted resident Deirdre Houlihan DiCara has accepted the position of Executive Director. DiCara will replace retiring director Kevin Purcell, who came out of retirement in 2009 to lead the organization.
Deirdre is a former CEO for the Girl Scouts of Northwestern CT, where she served for twenty-three years. She has also led the Winsted Health Center Foundation and Southbury-Middlebury Youth and Family Services. She will start her new position on March 18.
FISH, a United Way of Northwest CT member agency, is a 41-year old social service agency that provides shelter, emergency food and related programs for homeless individuals, families, and those in need in Litchfield County. DiCara said she plans to network with others to provide the best services for those facing a crisis. www.torringtonfish.org
