Volunteer Time Has Value

It's estimated that in Connecticut, each hour of volunteer time is worth $28, but the real value is the positive impact you'll see in your community. You can make a difference by giving food, gifts and donations to those in need.  2-1-1 statistics show that 1 out of 4 holiday meal and gift programs are unfulfilled.  You can reach out to local faith-based and service organizations to find out what kind of help they need.

Operation Fuel Opens

Girl Scout Cookie Program Coming Soon

Starting January 4, 2014, Girl Scouts across the state are taking part in a unique hands-on leadership and financial literacy program that encourages girls to discover their dreams and connect with people in their community. The Girl Scout Cookie Program is a fun way for girls to gain five important skills that they can apply in their everyday life: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics. Girls will show you how, in her own way, she’ll become a leader. Girl Scouts in Connecticut use the cookie proceeds to fund community service projects, troop activities such as camping trips, travel opportunities, and other fun activities. Girls will also be selling cookies for the service project, Cookies for Heroes. This program allows customers to purchase Girl Scout Cookies from their local Girl Scout and have them delivered to service women and men at home and overseas.  For more information, please visit www.gsofct.org.
