Warm The Children 25th Anniversary

The Register Citizen has set a goal of $25,000 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Warm The Children program.  Community support, however, is necessary to achieve this goal.  According to program coordinator Andrea Benedict, only $650 has been raised as of November 13.
All funds go directly to children in need, and the program is run so that the same families don't benefit from the program every year.  Each child is allotted $100 for a coat, boots, and warm clothing.  To register a child, parents should contact the Salvation Army at (860) 482-3569, FISH at (860) 482-7300, or call Friendly Hands Food Bank at (860) 482-3338.  Checks payable to the Warm The Children Fund can also be mailed to the Register Citizen, POB 58, Torrington, CT 06790 or delivered to their office at 59 Field Street in Torrington.

Falls Village First Selectman Gives !

I give to the United Way of Northwest Connecticut because it benefits residents who live in the hills in the Northwest Corner, including the Falls Village Day Care Center, which has been a beneficiary for over 25 years.
Pat Mechare, 1st Selectman, Town of Falls Village

Why I Give

I give to the United Way because they support the Geer Adult Day Care Center, which provided adult day care for my mother, who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. This allowed her to stay in our home for over five years, so I invite you to give to the United Way of Northwest Connecticut.
Dr. Philip O`Reilly, Superintendent, New Hartford Board of Education
